The Behance Japan Tokyo Community and Panasonic collaborate with designers on their social project, Cut Out The Darkness. This years theme is “Luminary Zoo”.

Production of this will be a single sheet of vinyl cut out that is inserted into a cylindrical lamp cover that is then put over the solar light bulb. The main use of this will be as a main light source at night for families in villages. Engage the many children who are excited to receive lamps.

My solution was to design a line illustration where every object would be connected to another, making removal and installation simple. This enables the full canvas to be used while maintaining full light exposure. The line drawing will appear intricate and complex. However, the children will soon discover that there are many hidden creatures within this illustration.
